The Mouth-Body Connection

According to the National Women's Health Information Center the health of your mouth can be a sign of your overall health.  Diabetes, HIV and some eating disorders may reveal their first signs as symptoms in the mouth.  Oral diseases and conditions can also be associated with other health problems such as heart disease, stroke and poorly controlled diabetes.
