Many of these are infectious, immunologic, and allergic diseases that fall under the mandate of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) of the National Institutes of Health. This report reviews NIAID’s clinical studies on the treatment and prevention of HIV/AIDS, autoimmune diseases, chronic fatigue syndrome, and sexually transmitted infectious diseases in women.
