Barbara Long, CPDT
Barbara Long is a Certified Pet Dog Trainer (CPDT). She became interested in dog training while managing the animal shelter for the Animal Protection Society of Orange County. In 1993 she started a private obedience training business, Paw In Hand, to work with people and their dogs in their homes. A charter member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, Barbara was named Outstanding Trainer of the Year in 2004. She currently serves on the APDT’s Board of Directors. She is a volunteer trainer for the Animal Protection Society, has served on the Board of Chatham Animal Rescue and Education and performs temperament evaluations on dogs in local shelters. She was profiled in the book Careers with Animals by Willow Sirch. She has two Gordon Setters and competes in Rally Obedience with them. Her goal is to help dog owners prevent problems and train their dogs to be safe and comfortable with the new baby. She can be reached at: barbaralong815@msn.com.
